The Square is a young, innovative tech company. We're looking for an experienced PAYE payroll administrator to join our ambitious business. This is a new in the business and you’ll be working with another experienced payroll manager. Together you’ll be responsible for one of our biggest opportunities - payrolling some of the thousands of our members on The Square. This is a pretty awesome opportunity for the right person. You’ll have the autonomy to own the payroll function and put your own ‘smart’ processes in place leveraging The Square’s tech experience.
What we look for
Key responsibilities:

Ensure the timely and accurate processing of all payroll cycles including the monitoring of processing jobs and disbursements to bank and GL postings.

Updating the payroll with starters, leavers, calculating SSP, SMP, SPP, Pension auto enrolment, RTI Submissions etc.

Manage the approval and processing of off cycle payments.

Provide guidance and support for processing of Payroll Master Data in accordance with operational procedures and payroll policies for PAYE workers

Develop and implement procedures to support the management of automated activities within the payroll application including controls and reconciliations where appropriate

Manage processes to support the preparation of payroll processing including the simulation of payroll runs and audit reports and validations.

Management of interface processing controls and timely handling of interface and processing errors.

Responsible for the development of internal and external communications for specific payroll processes.
Compliance and Strategic Thinking:

Responsible for maintaining all compliance requirements for assigned Payroll processes.

Responsible for ensuring Payroll is processed in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements

Support internal audits, external audits, Pension audits and government audits.

Prepare offer letters and contracts of employment across multiple locations

Process new hire paperwork, process employment status changes and/or updates

Ensure accuracy of all HR data and regular reporting

Managing maternity and paternity leave, absences, holiday
Organization Development:
-
Maintain and enhance Payroll to improve effectiveness and efficiency and support strategic direction.

Implement customer service improvement initiatives.
